The Executive Class offers a glimpse into the interactions taking place from day to day between people and their environment in the Financial District of Toronto. This highly concentrated business sector in the downtown core includes the presence of each of the major Canadian financial institutions and their distinguishable towers that have defined Toronto’s modern day skyline.
While the area is often recognized for its architecture, I seek to explore the function of the public space, and the people who frequent it. Oftentimes, when one is involved in a daily routine, it is easy to disassociate oneself from the subtleties of their surroundings. With that in mind, my goal was to spot the unique moments in what others may consider banal, and to capture those fleeting moments, unrecognized by the majority of those who frequent the space. In many ways, it is an opportunity to appreciate people, their daily lives, their reality and their humanity.
